It’s hard to believe, but the time has come to consider your child’s future beyond high school. Their courses for next year need to be chosen, but what do they register for if they don’t know what career path they want to take.
At Manitoba Career Prospects you’ll find information and resources for yourself, for your child and for educators. On the Parents Page, we identify a number of ways you can help your child.
It’s important to know what’s out there for your child, so take time to explore our web site. A great place to start is the Careers in Manitoba page which is accessible on the main menu as well as two additional links on the parent page.
Click through to any of the industry pages and you’ll get a preview of that industry in Manitoba including:

• The types of careers and job opportunities available
• Major employers in Manitoba
• Employee profiles
• Associations or sector councils

The employer profiles provide more in depth information about that employer and the jobs and careers available with them. The employee or career profiles feature someone actually working in that industry.
We’re continually adding new profiles so visit often.
We also suggest attending the Opening Doors – Parents Career Expo, held in November. Here you can speak directly to industry professionals to gather more information.
And finally, we suggest you check out to the videos and resources page. Here you’ll find links to our provincial sector councils, to more fantastic external resources and videos about specific careers in Manitoba.
